Louise Wood brings more than 35 years of fine dining restaurant and hotel experience to her role as our Hospitality Manager. Born and raised in England, she has worked on private yachts and in five-star, five-diamond restaurants in Europe, as well as managing American establishments—most recently, local favorites The Blue Talon and The Trellis. Louise brings immaculate attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction to Peace Hill. When she isn’t here at the farm, you might find her at the Culture Cafe in Williamsburg (which she co-owns), gardening, or pampering her two golden retrievers, Jax and Sydney.
We are your innkeepers. Since we’d love to know about you, we thought you might want to know about us.
We have been married 49 years and have three children who have blessed us with four grandchildren. Since we have lived in four different states, we have stayed at bed & breakfasts in Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia. We even stayed in this bed & breakfast long before we knew we would live here! Because we’ve stayed in so many, we know what we like and what made our time at each B&B either special or not. Our goal is to make our guests feel comfortable and cared for. We have included special treatment as part of your stay.Tanya has long had the dream of having a place where people could come and relax, be refreshed, and be renewed. There are times in life that are just plain hard, and you need a place to heal. Whatever you need, we want to be that place for you.
“That is how it is when sailors come into a quiet harbor. They unload their cargo, mend ship, and take on fresh supplies. Then away they sail on another long voyage, while we are left on the shore, waving good-bye and wishing them Godspeed.”
(Edmund Spenser’s Faerie Queene) Come, be our guests, unload your cargo, mend ship, and take on fresh supplies. We will wave good-bye and wish you Godspeed.
