Welcome to Peace Hill
Between the Chickahominy and the James Rivers is Peace Hill. This special place got its
name because it is where a treaty was signed between the Chickahominy Tribe and the
English settlers in 1614.
We want to share this place of peace with you. It is the perfect destination if you want to
get away and celebrate a wonderful, romantic time. It is a place for girl friends, sisters,
mothers and daughters, fathers and sons to come and enjoy each other's company. It is
a place from which your family can tour historic sites such as Colonial Williamsburg,
Yorktown Battlefields, and Jamestown Settlement. The James River Plantations,
including Berkeley, the site of the first official Thanksgiving in 1619 and Shirley
Plantation, Robert E. Lee's ancestors' home, are just down the road. Virginia has more
Civil War battlefields than any other state and many of them are within driving distance
of Peace Hill.
During part of your stay, you may want to really experience the tranquility and just sit on
the porch or in the sun room or meander down through the woods on the walking trails
during the day and enjoy the stunning starry skies at night.
